The MCF Foundation hasn’t stopped this year. This area of the Club, actively promoted and supported by president Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani, captured a large part of the Malaguista agenda during the 2016/17 campaign. We can divide its actions into two major departments.
Social Area
Sebastián Fernández Reyes, ‘Basti’, a Malaguista player between 1991/92 and 2000/01, is the visible face of this sector of the MCF Foundation. Amongst the principal activities, we can highlight the Blue and Whites’ Values campaign; the Charity Match; Charity Calendar; Blood and Bone Marrow Drive; the visit to the Children’s Hospital and a great number of collaborations with charity organisations in the city, amongst others.
Historical Area
The MCF Foundation has a loyal commitment to the memory of the Club. Historian, Domingo Muñoz adds a scientific basis to the tributes and actions of Málaga CF in relation to the past. This season, the 75th anniversary of La Rosaleda marked a good part of the year’s activities. The ‘La Rosaleda in 75 images’ exhibition; the ONCE coupon commemorating the 75th anniversary; the round table ‘A Journey from Baños del Carmen to La Rosaleda’; and the presentation of the model of the first Rosaleda, are just some of the acts celebrating the three quarters of a century of Martiricos. In addition, the ‘Pedro Bazán’ Door Number 9 was inaugurated, honouring Juan Gómez, Juanito, in the LaLiga match against Atlético de Madrid.
