Málaga Club de Fútbol is the team from the fifth metropolitan area of Spain and the country’s principal tourist destination, where football began over a century ago with a match between a group of locals ahead of their time, on 3rd April 1904.

 

The Club from the city of Málaga has had various denominations over more than 115 years of Málaga footballing history. Málaga Football Club, FC Malagueño, Real Málaga FC, Málaga Sport Club, CD Malacitano, CD Málaga and CA Malagueño preceded the current Málaga CF, named on 29th June 1994.

 

The entity has achieved its 10th consecutive season in the top flight of Spanish football, accumulating 37 First Division campaigns, 39 in the Second Division, one UEFA Intertoto Cup and participation in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
