La Rosaleda goes back in time to 1941

The model, which reflects the stadium 75 years ago, was presented by Sheikh Al Thani, and its creator, José Manuel Urdiales who explained all the details to the Club president.

Urdiales, with the support and collaboration of the Historical Area of the MCF Foundation, has managed to reproduce the image of 14th September 1941, the day when La Rosaleda stadium was officially inaugurated.

“The model recreates the moment of the first kick during the debut match at La Rosaleda. A game between Málaga and Sevilla FC, which ended in a Malaguista victory by 3-2. The stadium had a capacity for 8,000 fans. The model is basically made of wood”, says its creator.

From this Friday 5th May, the model will be housed at La Rosaleda, and visitors to the Museum&Tour at the stadium will be able to see the evolution of football in the city of Málaga.

The work of the Image Technology Centre (CTI) at the University of Málaga was essential in the development of the model of La Rosaleda of 1941.
