The blood and bone marrow drive carried out by Málaga Club de Fútbol via its Foundation, and the Regional Blood Transfusion Centre at La Rosaleda stadium this Thursday, was a complete success. An hour before the drive got underway, dozens of people were queueing outside the Malaguista stadium to contribute to the cause.
President Al Thani wanted to do his bit within the campaign, together with Málaga CF coach, Marcelo Romero; sports director at the Club, Francesc Arnau; and Sebastián Fernández Reyes ‘Basti’ from the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, who highlighted the important work carried out by the Club with these initiatives: “Málaga always lend themselves to these campaigns. From the MCF Foundation, we’re delighted this drive was undertaken. The experience has been a total success”.
“More and more people get involved every year. It’s so important that we’re all aware of how significant a donation is. We’re here to do our bit, to continue to share more things with those in need”, says Romero.
Donation of bone marrow
As an initiative this year, the Club incorporated the possibility of Malaguista fans also donating bone marrow: “This year we added the possibility of bone marrow donation, which is also extremely important. Furthermore, we’ve given away 1,000 tickets to the first 500 donors, for them to watch #MálagaRealBetis at La Rosaleda”, comments Basti.
