A pre-match session, with an hour and a half duration, saw the ball taking centre stage. There were 23 available players, counting goalkeepers; Kameni and Boyko, plus all members of the first team, as well as homegrown players; Luis Muñoz, Ontiveros and Kuki Zalazar. Kuzmanovic, suffering with a long-term injury, is back in Málaga, and greeted his teammates at the beginning of the session.

Sandro underwent specific training with the ball, separately from the group, whilst Juanpi (groin discomfort), En-Nesyri (grade I sprain to his right ankle) and Recio (fractured right arm) remained in the stadium’s interior galleries to undergo recovery treatment. Injured Koné was absent.
