For the fourth year running, the MCF Foundation is undertaking the ‘Solidarity Match’. Under this initiative tickets are donated to various social organisations in the city to allow Malagueños without resources to watch a match at La Rosaleda.
This year, the chosen match is Málaga CF - CD Lugo on 21st December. As such, 3,740 tickets have been donated to 64 different organisations. Amongst them are seven soup kitchens - Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche, ADINTRE, Asociación Benéfica Patronato Santo Domingo, Hermanitas de los Pobre, Cruz Roja Málaga, Comedor Social Santa Teresa and Corazones Malagueños de la Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga – who will exchange the tickets for donations of non-perishable food (at least three kilos).
The presentation, held at the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda, was attended by representatives from various social groups, including Málaga CF’s general manager, Richard Shaheen; member of the MCF Foundation’s Social Department, Sebastián Fernández Reyes, ‘Basti’; councillor for Social Rights at Málaga City Hall, Gema del Corral; deputy of Social Affairs and Integrity, Mª Esperanza González; and councillor for Education, Social Politics, Conciliation and Equality at the Junta de Andalucía, Mercedes García Paine.
