10 out of 10 debut in the Copa de Andalucía

Following a seven-month break in competition, Málaga CF Femenino kicked off this regional tournament in a spectacular way with a big win against Cádiz CF Femenino (10-0).

The long-awaited day finally arrived for the Malaguista team and the return to the pitch couldn’t have gone any better. After a seven-month break – the Blue and Whites’ last match in official competition was on 29th February – Málaga CF defeated Cádiz CF Femenino by 10-0 in the quarter-final of the Copa Andalucía.

Nati Gutiérrez made her debut in the dugout, and Candela, María Cortés and Claudia all donned the Malaguista jersey for the first time from the outset. Andrea Romero also had minutes in goal and Estefanía was back to defend the Málaga CF shield after three seasons. Edna scored the 1-0 in minute 16’, and from then on the carrousel of goals arrived. At half-time, Málaga Femenino were 5-0 up with goals from Edna (16’), María Cortés (18’), Claudia (21’ and 24’) and María Ruiz (29’).

The second half continued in much the same way, although the names of the goal scorers changed. It was now the turn of the MCF Academy. First Natalia (6-0 min. 52) and then Arantxa, who scored a brace to take the girls 8-0 in the lead by the 75th minute. Estefanía netted the ninth and then put the icing on the cake scoring the 10th and final goal of the game. A shower of goals and a superb start to this regional tournament, securing a well-deserved pass to the semis.

Next up the Malaguistas will face Granada CF Femenino at 20:00 at the Los Manantiales stadium for a place in the final.
