Statement from Málaga Club de Fútbol

In relation to the report regarding the suspension of Málaga Club de Fútbol’s federative rights for the reported non-payment to C. AT Osasuna, the Martiricos organisation wishes to state:

1. Such suspension of federation rights only means it is not possible to sign a new player to Málaga Club de Fútbol in the official competition (Liga BBVA), pending the resolution of the complaint from C. AT Osasuna.

Therefore, it does not affect registered players (including Carlos Kameni) nor does it prevent new signings of players.

2. Malaga Clúb de Fútbol acknowledges that there are delays in some payments (including that to C. AT Osasuna) due to the complexity in approving budgets and transactions with foreign entities. Such delays are punctual (as happened with Valencia CF) and represent figures that are less than the overall figures currently managed by Málaga Cúb de Fútbol.

3. In one year, Malaga Club de Fútbol has received more than 120 million euros and the organisation estimates that this amount, together with the personal guarantee of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani, should be sufficient guarantee for third parties to have patience with delays in payments, although it understands that C. AT Osasuna is entitled to claim the amount owed, but such claims are being made only with Malaga Club de Fútbol, and not with other clubs.

4. In short, as has happened to date, they will receive the necessary funds to meet outstanding payments, which shall terminate the suspension of federative rights (and is it possible to register new players), on the other hand, today does not affect Málaga Club de Fútbol.

5. One of the future priorities of Málaga Club de Fútbol is to improve the performance of financial budgets and cash flow, to prevent unnecessary damage currently being produced by undue delays in payments which are, to a large extent, caused by the complexity surrounding the implementation of international financial operations.
