The player has chosen to say goodbye to Malaguismo through an emotional letter and video recorded at what has been, and always will be, his home: La Rosaleda.
Kevin Medina will officially end his time as a Málaga Club de Fútbol player on 30th June. The Málaga-born winger, who was raised and trained at the MCF Academy, expresses his deep passion and love for the club in a heartfelt letter, which we share below:
Dear Malaguistas:
Today, I find it hard to find the right words. Today, I say goodbye to all of you, to this jersey, and it’s not easy to part ways with something that has given me so much.
I remember my debut like it was yesterday. La Rosaleda, my family in the stands, my heart racing a thousand beats per minute. I had dreamed of that moment so many times… but reality surpassed anything I had imagined.
Then came a chapter abroad, in Portugal. It was a time to grow, to mature, to come back stronger… but always with Málaga on my mind.
And when I came back, I did so with one goal in mind: to help return the club to where it truly belongs. We had to fight through tough times, endure hardships, and hold on… but we did it together. You never let us down. At home, on the road, you were always there, like one more player on the team.
And then that day came. The 122nd minute. That goal, that promotion, that explosion of joy we shared as one soul. I cried, I screamed, I hugged, I fell to the ground…
I felt it as a true Malaguista, one of the happiest days of my life. That moment will stay with me forever. For the rest of my life.
Whether things went well or not, if there’s one thing I can promise you, it’s that every time I stepped onto the pitch, I gave it my all. For this badge. For all of you.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. To the coaches, my teammates, the club staff… and above all, to the fans. Thank you for showing me what it truly means to be a Malaguista.
I would have loved to keep writing this story, but in football, there are always two sides to the game. Even so, once again, thank you, Málaga Club de Fútbol, for letting me wear your colours, for allowing me to be part of your history, and for the family I found here.
