Official statement

Málaga Club de Fútbol wishes to express its strongest condemnation of the incidents that occurred during last Sunday’s match between UD Almería and our club, events that are completely contrary to the values of respect, coexistence, and sportsmanship that should always define football.

We regret that situations arose which strayed from the atmosphere of cordiality, friendship, and mutual respect that has historically existed between two sets of fans united by many shared away trips over the years.

Likewise, the club believes that an unnecessary atmosphere of tension was created, which did not contribute to harmony between the supporters nor to the normal course of a sporting event that should have been experienced with respect and sportsmanship.

Similarly, the behaviour of at least five individuals is incomprehensible, as they entered the pitch at the end of the match without presenting any form of accreditation.

Málaga CF believes that this artificial hostility makes no sense. In this regard, the recent circulation of messages on social media, although later deleted, does not help to promote the respect owed to our club.

The Blue and White club wishes to reaffirm its commitment to football as a space for bringing cities and like-minded supporters together, far removed from any behaviour that tarnishes the image of our sport. Accordingly, we would like to state that when UD Almería next visits La Rosaleda, their team, delegation, and supporters will be welcomed with the hospitality, respect, and normality that have always characterised our club and the city of Málaga.
