The Asturian side currently sits 10th in the table with 52 points, eight points shy of the promotion playoff places, which are occupied by Málaga CF (5th) and Burgos CF (6th), both on 60 points.
In the first-leg encounter at El Molinón – Enrique Castro ‘Quini’, Málaga CF secured a 1-3 victory thanks to goals from Chupe, Niño, and Lobete.
The most recent meeting at Martiricos, in the 2024/25 season, also ended in a win for the Blue and Whites, a 2-1 result featuring a brace from Chupe.
