Salomón Rondón makes history with his goal against Barcelona

MCF striker, José Salomón Rondón, scored his third goal of the current BBVA League campaign last Sunday. The goal from the ‘Number 23’ Malaguista turned out to be the 100th from a Venezuelan player in the history of the Spanish First Division.

“The 100th goal from a Venezuelan in the League fills me with pride.  Last year I scored the 1000th goal for the team; us Venezuelans are making history and that’s positive for my country, my national side, and all the Venezuelans who come to the European leagues,” said Rondón in his press conference this morning.

Last season, with his 14 league goals debuting in the elite league of Spanish football, Salomón overtook his compatriot Juan Arango – ex-Mallorca player – as the best ‘Vinotinto’ striker in a season.  In the current campaign, his Venezuela teammate, Miku – Getafe – currently accumulates six goals and is one of the standout players in the South American country’s recent history.
