Kilometre 28: Málaga-Sabadell

The second third of the competition couldn’t have got off to a better start. Málaga defeated Antonio Hidalgo’s Sabadell by 2-0 with an indisputable star: Luis Muñoz.

There were numerous highlights from #MálagaSabadell that we look at here in our usual kilometre:

Another show by Muñoz

Joaquín and Luis have taken a liking to making a difference at La Rosaleda. The winger assisted the converted attacking midfielder to net the 1-0 and proved to be a headache for the rival. Luis, during what was his best game as a professional without question, captained the victory by scoring a brace and showing an extraordinary physical and footballing display. Simply outstanding.

La Rosaleda, the fortress is back

We were determined to regain our strength back at our fortress, right? MCF has now won two games on the bounce at home by 2-0. “Winning helps winning”, is one of Sergio Pellicer’s mantras. And, of course, the numbers have greatly improved. The recent +6 points has increased the points at home to 17 out of the 37 total. With four victories and five draws in 14 matches.

Pellicer’s rock

He plays many songs on his own particular guitar, and this season’s song is just getting better and better. This chameleonic ability makes him unpredictable to the rival and unreadable for rival scouts. Obsessed with work, with ambition and humility, he utilises several formations, maximizing his resources 110%. His current 1-4-1-4-1 enhances the team's game and, therefore, the results follow. Rock and Roll by Sergio Pellicer.

Two thirds of the marathon done

28 out of 42 matches in LaLiga SmartBank 20/21 have been played. Málaga, 10th with 37 points, are six away from the team in 6th place marking the playoff positions, Rayo Vallecano, and nine away from the fourth from bottom team (Cartagena, 19th). In the second stretch of the league the lads have obtained four wins and four draws (16 points), giving a growing and constant feeling of improvement. Each subsequent game looks like the best of the season. Keep it up!
