Weligton combines coaching work with recovery from injury

Weligton Robson Pena de Oliveira is merging his role as coaching assistant to the first team with undergoing specific treatment to his right knee.

The Brazilian-born ‘Mariscal’, who sustained an internal and chondral meniscus injury to his right knee at the start of the 2016/17 season, is currently receiving regenerative stem cell treatment, carried out by Vicente de la Varga, traumatologist to the Malaguista first team, supervised by the Club’s head of medical services, Juan Carlos Pérez Frías.

Stimulation from the stem cell infiltrations clearly aims to regenerate the injured area of the knee, which would allow Weligton to return to fitness should everything progress satisfactorily.
