Over the last few days, following the match against Villarreal CF, the Brazilian defender has suffered an exacerbation to the injury in his right knee. As such, he therefore underwent an arthroscopic operation this Wednesday afternoon, for an internal and chondral meniscus injury.
The operation was carried out by the first team’s trauma surgeon, Vicente de la Varga, under the supervision of the Club’s Head of Medical Services, doctor Juan Carlos Pérez Frías.
Weligton will rest over the next few hours, and his availability will depend on the evolution of the injury.
