Álex Pastor undergoes successful surgery

Malaguista player Álex Pastor successfully underwent surgery on Monday afternoon for a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, an internal meniscus tear and a mild injury to the medial collateral ligament.

Álex Pastor, Málaga CF central defender, successfully underwent surgery on Monday afternoon. Pablo Campos, head of the first-team Medical Services, was kept fully informed throughout the procedure.

The surgery involved reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, as well as repair of the extensive tear to the medial meniscus, which was successfully sutured. A small meniscectomy was also performed to address a minor tear to the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus, along with a lateral reinforcement using the fascia lata. For the first six weeks, the player will have to wear a knee brace and will be restricted to minimal, very partial weight-bearing.

Pastor, who sustained the injury during training on Wednesday 27th August, had featured in Málaga CF’s first two league matches. He will soon begin his recovery process under the supervision of the club’s medical team.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Álex!
