Ruth: “Playing at La Rosaleda is a dream come true”

The Málaga CF Femenino captain had a few words after the #MálagaZaragoza Copa de la Reina clash. “When the match ended, tears of emotion fell, what a top day,” she said.

“We couldn’t be more delighted. When the match ended, tears of emotion fell at the excitement of having played at La Rosaleda. This has always been our dream, even more so with this victory. What a top day,” she said to the media.

The captain is “very pleased so many people came to support us and happy for the opportunity the Club has given us. I’d like to send a message that dreams do come true. I have teammates aged 28, 30, 15…age doesn’t matter, when you work hard and make an effort you can achieve your dreams.” Ruth is still on cloud nine: “I couldn’t be happier. I’ve played at La Rosaleda, with Málaga, and we won. It’s amazing. Now we have to focus on La Rambla.”

The Blue and White defender gives an example of values: “I’d like to congratulate Zaragoza. They were a great rival. Luckily the game went our way, but it could have easily gone in their favour.”

About La Rosaleda, “we noticed the change, particularly the move from artificial to natural turf. But the excitement and eagerness to play here meant we could do anything.” Finally, Ruth added: “Now we’re going to celebrate this victory. This team can achieve anything with this synergy, enthusiasm, desire and hard work.”
