A top-of-the-table clash took place at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF on Sunday, as Málaga CF Femenino hosted league leaders CD Argual in a 12:00 kick-off. Backed by their fans, the Blue and Whites went into the match with the chance to move to the top of the table.
Héctor Díaz named M. Arrabal; Encarni, Jeni L., Yoli Peche, Elsa; Yessenia A.M., Andrea Herr., Andrea Ríos, L. Ramos; Futu and Torralvo in his starting line-up. Arantxa, Carmela, Marina Tomás, Noemi and Lucía Correro also featured in the second half.
The match began evenly, with neither side creating any clear-cut chances. The two teams, separated only by goal difference going into the matchday, remained evenly matched until the 35th minute. Encarni made a superb individual run down the right before setting up Torralvo, who finished with a low, angled shot to put Málaga ahead. The Blue and Whites took their 1-0 lead into half-time.
The visitors returned to the pitch with greater intensity and took control of possession. Mari José equalised in the 66th minute before Willmary completed CD Argual's comeback seven minutes later, lifting a shot just under the crossbar to make it 1-2.
The match ended 1-2, marking the Blue and Whites’ first defeat of the season. Málaga remain second in the table on 16 points, three points off the top. Their next league fixture is on 1 November against CDB FF Olympia Las Rozas.
