The Malaguista coach held a press conference following the #MálagaPonferradina tie. “We scored another point, although it doesn’t seem like a lot, we’ve earned points from the last three games, this is the way forward,” he said.
Málaga CF coach, Natxo González, held a press conference following the point won against Ponferradina.
He kicked off by analysing the match, stating the rival “started off strong” and from the initial stage “I liked this Málaga CF a lot. This is the match I’m most satisfied with,” he affirmed. The coach added that “on the attack I’ve seen a recognisable team, which is what we want and are looking for.” He also said that his team “minimised an important rival in the division, that has been in top positions all season. We kept a clean sheet, stayed consistent in defence and are improving on the attack, which is what we want to see.” He ended the question by stating that “we reached the rival area a lot, then it’s that decision, that precision, that action that looked like a foul, it’s all about the details.”
In regard to the possible penalty not awarded following the foul on Brandon, he said that “it’s obvious” and “if the referee didn’t call it, it’s because he thought it wasn’t a foul.”
Asked if he’s happy with the result, Natxo said that “I’m not going to leave satisfied if we don’t win” and “we made many more arrivals to the rival area.”
The Malaguista coach “enjoyed how we took the ball from one side to the other. In terms of positional play, this was our most compete game and the team is growing,” he said. “We didn’t win today, but we scored another point, although it doesn’t seem like a lot, we’ve earned points from the last three games, this is the way forward,” he added.
For Natxo, “Juande’s injury isn’t good news” but “having very young players knocking at the door is crucial,” and we saw “the security and personality shown by Andrés Caro.”
Lastly, he said “I’d like to thank the fans, it was a great evening. In the final minutes they pushed us forward. Thank you for trusting in us,” he concluded.
