Míchel: “There are three points at stake and we’re going to fight for them”

The Málaga CF coach held a press conference in the lead-up to #BarçaMálaga: “We’re going there with our ideas. We’ve been working all week to find solutions”.

Three points at stake

“We’re going there with our own intentions. We’ve been working all week to find solutions and we know that, even so, it’s not easy. There are three points at stake and we’re going to fight for them as long as we can, and if it’s until the end, then all the better”.

Possession and counter-attack

“As far as we can we have to try and find solutions, with good possession and with counter-attacks. If not, the suffering is going to become a problem, as we won’t leave our goal. We’re not going to alter our idea of play so much, either defensively or offensively”.

Confidence

“There’s only one way to get out of this situation, and that’s with confidence, being responsible and by each player doing their job. The players came to this conclusion a while ago. I don’t know anyone who, in a team sport, gets out of a problem alone. Last season I went all out for my players and did very well for them. This year I’ll do the same for the guys, and I want them to know that”.

Dynamic

“We don’t have such a bad team so as to have just one point. I don’t think it’s a case of rivals who compete against us not being concerned about what we’re capable of, the fact is we’re in a very negative dynamic. Everything that usually passes from one side passes to another”.

Roberto and Andrés Prieto

“Roberto has been suffering all week with a severe inflammation. Nothing’s broken, but it impedes, as well as the blow sustained, the actions of the keeper. If it’s going to be like in the second half from the other day, we prefer that he doesn’t take part. Andrés will be the starting goalkeeper. Cengo has been training for four days after overcoming his physical problems, and also Kellyan will be there in case there’s a last-minute incident”.
