Malagueño qualified to the final of the promotion playoffs to Segunda RFEF, whilst MCF Femenino ended the season with a defeat. In the lower categories, the Juvenil ‘A’ and Prebenjamines won their league titles.
Atlético Malagueño
Funes and Bravo’s boys defeated Torredonjimeno (1-3) away from home in the semi-finals of the promotion playoffs to Segunda RFEF. Juan Cruz soon put Malagueño in the lead (6’) and a colossal Gonzalo saved his second consecutive penalty at this stage in the season. Miguel Ángel equalised for the locals in the second half (54’), but Julio (80') and Juan Cruz (86') sealed the win for the Malaguistas. The rival in the last round is Antequera CF, at El Maulí, and again only a win will suffice to seal the objective.
Málaga CF Femenino
Javi Ramos’ girls ended the season, having been relegated to 1ª Nacional, with a defeat against Femarguín in the Canary Islands. The locals, who were fighting to remain in Reto Iberdrola, were more effective and enjoyed a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from Astrid.
The Academy
Two league titles were won in a dream week for the oldest and youngest teams. The Juvenil ‘A’ defeated Betis at La Rosaleda on Wednesday to be crowned regional champions. The prize, to take part in the Copa de Campeones de España Juvenil. In addition, the Prebenjamines won in El Palo to win the provincial league after a great season.
