A dream come true. All the Málaga Genuine players were able to experience first-hand what it is like to play at La Rosaleda Stadium. And they weren’t alone. The Supercapacitad@s Football School shared a morning to remember with the players from the male and female teams, as well as a group of Málaga CF employees – with their respective negative antigen tests – and sponsors and friends of the MCF Foundation.
A representation of 64 Málaga Genuine players had the opportunity to play with team captains Lombán, Luis Muñoz, Escassi, Farfán, Ruth and Encarni; judicial administrator, José María Muñoz; sporting director, Manolo Gaspar: head of The Academy, Duda; as well as first team delegate, Josemi. Not forgetting Sebastián Fernández 'Basti' from the MCFC Foundation’s Social Department who acted as player-speaker.
Also taking part in the event were Laura Moreno representing the Diputación de Málaga; Jesús Gutiérrez from Sanamar; José Luis Paradas Romero of the Málaga City Council; as well as Alberto Jiménez from PROAMB. Pablo Ráez and Mercedes García Paine, godparents of Málaga Genuine, were also at La Rosaleda.
Eva Alcaide was in charge of refereeing the multiple matches throughout the morning, that kicked off with an emotional motivational talk from coaches Sergio Pellicer and Javi Ramos, followed by a standing ovation from the Genuine players to their parents, who were present in the ‘preferencia’ stands at the stadium.
The players from the Supercapacitad@s Football School, who have been undertaking face-to-face training sessions since Thursday 20th May following a year of remote sessions, spread their joy and vitality to the rest of the participants at this event.
The four competing teams received their respective trophies at the end of the morning. Yet beyond the results, Málaga Genuine have won us all over with their tenderness and camaraderie.
