The new rivals for 2021/22

The regular season in LaLiga SmartBank has come to an end for Málaga CF with the objective of remaining in the category fulfilled. Next season we’ll have seven new rivals in the silver division.

It only remains to determine who will accompany RCD Espanyol and RCD Mallorca, next season, in LaLiga Santander. Today the playoffs begin in which CD Leganés, UD Almería, Girona FC and Rayo Vallecano will fight for the third place of promotion to the First Division.

The three teams who don’t move up to the elite will join Real Sporting de Gijón, SD Ponferradina, UD Las Palmas, CD Mirandés, CF Fuenlabrada, Real Oviedo, CD Tenerife, Real Zaragoza, FC Cartagena, AD Alcorcón and CD Lugo as Málaga CF’s rivals in the 21/22 season.

As in recent years, there will be seven new opponents for MCF in the silver division of Spanish football. Three of them relegated from LaLiga Santander, that is SD Huesca, Real Valladolid CF and SD Eibar.

The new additions are the teams moving up from the up to now Second Division B. The four teams that have moved up will face Málaga for the first time, under the MCF name, in an official match. Namely, Burgos CF, SD Amorebieta, UD Ibiza and the Real Sociedad de Fútbol reserve team, known colloquially as the Sanse.
