Latest Malaguista signing, José Rodríguez was officially presented in La Rosaleda’s press room to the sporting media: “I’ve come here to work and give my all”.
The young Alicante-born midfielder, who will wear the number ‘25’ shirt, bearing the name ‘José Rguez’, was accompanied by Francesc Arnau at his press conference. “José’s arrival was planned before Recio’s injury. It was a position we needed occupying due to the casualties we’ve sustained, in order to approach the next round of the competition with the best squad possible. This enables the coach to make decisions and arm his weapons to win matches”, affirms the Club’s sports director.

Welcome
“I would like to thank Arnau, the Sheikh and the board for their confidence in me, the three legends (Club advisers) who came to support me, and my teammates for giving me such a great welcome”.
Happy and excited
“Germany? My time there served me well, and I learnt concepts I didn’t know before, but I wanted to come to Spain as I love it. I’m delighted to be here, I wanted to come to Málaga. The opportunity arose and I’m extremely excited and really looking forward to it. I would like to start playing already because I need to, I’m part of the best League in the world, which is so important for me. I’m thrilled to be able to play for Málaga”.
Coach and new teammates
“I was speaking to him (Romero) yesterday, I loved the conversation we had, he really motivated me and said he wanted me to be here. I can see that Málaga, the coach and the players like me, which is so important to me. I coincided with Diego Llorente at Castilla, and was able to play alongside him”.
Maximum motivation
“I am a player who likes to have contact with the ball, and I’ve come to the ideal team for that. I’m not here to redeem myself, I’m here to work hard, and I want everyone to know that I will give my all. I will give everything for this team, for the good of myself and the whole squad”.
Debut at a very young age with Real Madrid
“I have wonderful memories of being so young and playing for Real Madrid. It was good for me playing alongside footballers of that level. Being so young, such a lot is expected of you, but I’m focused and I’m sure things will turn out great”.
