Farewell letter from Juankar

The former Blue and White player says goodbye to what has been his team for the past five years.

I never thought this time would come, but everything comes to an end. The end of the most beautiful and most important stage of my life, in which I have suffered a great deal, but at the same time I have been the happiest person in the world, thanks to this city, thanks to its people and thanks to all the Malaguismo that has shown me everything that this means.

I feel like I could have given so much more had it not been for the injuries, but even so, I have rowed against the tide to be back and continue fighting for this shield. I would give my life a thousand times over for this, expecting absolutely nothing in return. Those who truly know me know how I am, a simple guy who plays football and who gives more importance to everything around him instead of to himself. I seem good to many, others not, but I want you to know that over these past five years I have given everything from the first moment to the last, some times better than others, but always knowing the importance of the shirt I was wearing.

I am incredibly sad leaving the club in this way, with a bittersweet taste, with a guilt that doesn’t belong to me as this circumstance has arisen due to other reasons that have been going on for such a long time. I just hope that one day you can see that I have tried to give you back all that you have given me, which has been so much.

Thank you to Málaga for giving me the most important thing in my life, my daughter, Martina. The only Malagueña in the family, the one who has worn the shirt since she was born and the one who sang the Málaga anthem to me when she was two years old. For this, for this city, for these fans and for all the great friends that I made along the way, this story has been so worthwhile. With all my heart I hope that Málaga resolves the situation and I’ll be here to help with whatever is needed. I know that Málaga will shine again stronger than ever.

To all the friends that Málaga has given me, to everyone at the club, to all my teammates over the last five years, to all the invisible ones in the dressing room who made our lives easier, and of course to ALL the fans for setting such a wonderful example in every way, thank you for these five years of my life, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

Football has no memory, but know that wherever I am, I will remember every single moment I experienced here. Always MÁLAGA!
