Arrabal: “I told my teammates we’d win on penalties”

María Arrabal was one of the heroines of Málaga CF Femenino who qualified to the next round of the Copa de la Reina at La Rosaleda. “We never expected to play here, it’s been my dream since I was little. This is incredible, particularly in regard to how the match went. We’ll never forget it,” she added.

“The victories belong to everyone. We’re a team and whenever I can, I will help. This is for us all and the fans, Thank you for coming to support us, you’re the best,” she added, praising the more than 2,000 Malaguistas gathered at Martiricos.

Decisive in the closing stages, María said to the media that “I’ve always liked penalties a lot. I told my teammates, if it came to it, we’d win on penalties. In the end, thank God, we did. Incredible.”
