Well-deserved win against Cáceres to end the first phase (2-0)

Málaga CF Femenino, with goals from Edna and Futu, plus a superb performance from Lucía, defeated the rival from Extremadura in the final match of Group Sur A in the Reto Iberdrola.

The last match of the first phase of the competition between Málaga CF Femenino and CF Femenino Cáceres at the Polideportivo Municipal de Cártama.

Both teams arrived at matchday 14 with clear objectives; Nati Gutiérrez’s girls were playing to stay in the category, whilst the rival were seeking promotion.

Malaguista goalkeeper, Lucía Martín was the star of the match, disrupting the visitors’ attempts one at a time, responding with superb saves.

Futu joined play in the last 15 minutes of the match and bolstered the Malaguista attacking display. She provided the assist that led to the first goal, the work of Edna in 77’, and three minutes later, in 80’, she scored the second that sentenced a very close game.

With this victory, the Malaguistas end the first phase of Group Sur A of the Reto Iberdrola in sixth place, with a total of 16 points. The girls obtained four victories, four draws and six defeats.

The team’s next objective will be the promotion league, pitting Málaga CF against the five last qualifying teams in Group Sur B.
