Nati Gutiérrez: “It was an early playoff"

The Blue and White coach reviewed yesterday’s win against Cáceres in Cártama: “We need to stay humble and work extremely hard to achieve the objective of staying in the category”.

The team’s moment

“The team is facing a fight to stay up. Last weekend’s defeat was a shame. We have 16 points, are in good spirits and have improved a great deal since the first match against Juan Grande. We’re finding that DNA, that identity we’ve been seeking. I’m very self-demanding and we always need to improve”.

Permanency

“Due to history and what this shield signifies, Málaga does not deserve to be in the relegation zone. Málaga always has ambition to aspire to more. Since we started this project, we’ve always fought to be as high as possible. The standings put us in our place, yet we’re performing well and only the three points from each game will do. We need to stay humble and work extremely hard to achieve the objective of staying in the category, something which hasn’t changed”.

Superb match by Lucía

“The team has to work on the plays more. Play the game and don't make those forced mistakes. Building up is much more difficult than breaking down. The occasions like we saw today, are mistakes on our part. We solider on, today we kept a clean sheet thanks to a great performance from Lucía Martín. I congratulate her for a job well done today”.

Early playoff

“The team knew how to adjust. In the second half the changes were noticeable, with players in midfield, good passes and a reduction in unforced errors. The team was far more vertical, with more attacking depth, against a qualified rival. We knew we’d have to push hard to claim the three points at home. This match was an early playoff. Now we’re focused on the new calendar”.

Andalucía Day

“It was a special day, Andalucía Day. The fans never tire of cheering us on, thank you for trusting us and we are so grateful to everyone for their love and support”.
