Vadillo: “I want to send a message of pride and optimism”

The Malaguista striker appeared in the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda following the match against SD Eibar. “The team was brave, 1-3 is tough.”

Málaga CF suffered defeat by SD Eibar in a high intensity match. Blue and White player, Álvaro Vadillo held a press conference after the game.

“There were two different matches. During the first half an hour we were very superior against the leader of the division. They are a great team, and with a man down it was really tough. I’m proud of the team and the work we did. I really enjoyed the first half, this is the line to follow. The team continues to get stronger, with great attitude,” said Álvaro.

He was then asked about his position as a centre forward: “I’ve never played upfront. Pablo thinks I can contribute, I feel very comfortable. In this position I have scored my two goals with Málaga CF. Anything I can bring to the team is welcome,” he stated.

“The team is disappointed as we were trailing after a really good initial 30 minutes. With those details we could have had another result. We were brave and went all out in search of a tie. The 1-3 result is hard, we could have gone level, but I want to send a message of pride and optimism, this is the way to go,” he stressed.

Lastly, Vadillo talks about Malaguismo: “The fans were tired of words. The reaction they had shows they were pleased with the attitude and the match we played. We’re very grateful to them as they’ve been there in the tough times, and will continue to be there until the end,” he concluded.
