A point in Cáceres to end the season unbeaten (1-1)

Málaga CF Femenino brought an end to the season in Primera Nacional Group IV with a draw in Extremadura against Cacereño Femenino Atlético. The goal from Carmen Gómez in minute 62 took the match level following a local goal by Lucía Cancho in 50’.

Málaga CF Femenino’s season came to an end in Group IV of Primera Nacional away to Cacereño Femenino Atlético at the Manuel Sánchez Delgado Stadium.

Ayala’s team arrived at this last match of the 21/22 season as champions, seeking to maintain their undefeated streak.

MCFF’s starting line-up consisted of María Arrabal in goal; Encarni, Olmedo, Yoli and Marina in defence; Farfán, María Cortés and Lorena in midfield; and Carmen Gómez, Futu and Sonia Torralvo upfront.

The first half was very even in Pinilla, with play focused in midfield. The fight for the ball was incredibly intense and there was no notable presence in either area.

Soon into the second half, the locals took the lead with a goal from Lucía Cancho (1-0, min50).

The Blue and Whites, spurred on by their search for an equaliser, went level thanks to a goal from Carmen Gómez, who surpassed the rival goalkeeper with a shot from the edge of the area (1-1, min62).

Shortly afterwards, in 58', Carla made her first team debut wearing the number 29 jersey, a 15-year-old winger from Villanueva de la Concepción who belongs to the Cadete team.

In the final stretch of play, MCFF went all out on the attack, with three corners in the final minutes. Cacereño Atlético were a player down due to injury, having made all their substitutions.

With this 1-1 draw in Cáceres, Ayala’s girls end a brilliant season undefeated, winning 68 points from 21 victories and five draws. In addition, they are the team to have scored the most goals, totalling 70, and conceded the least, just 20.

Congratulations for this great season, team!
