The Málaga CF Forever reign in Spain

The Association of Ex Málaga Footballers won the final phase of the Liga FEAFV last weekend in Oliva (Valencia).

The 7-a-side football tournament pitted the eight best veteran teams in the country against each other last Saturday, in a format of group stage, semi-finals and final. The ‘Forever’ won the first round against last year’s champions, Real Valladolid by 2-1, with goals from Musampa and Juan Rodríguez; a 3-1 win against Albacete Balompié, with a hat trick from Musampa; and a 4-1 victory against Racing de Santander, with goals from Fali (2), Dani and the indestructible Musampa.

In the semi-finals, Málaga defeated Elche by 3-1 with a brace from Musampa and another goal from Dani. In the grand final, the duel of the ‘Zona Sur’ was repeated, and again ended in victory for the Malaguistas (1-0). The rival, Marbesula de Marbella, showed great resistance, but a goal from Javi Ramos gave the Blue and Whites’ veterans the title.

After three final stages seeking the title, Manolo Canillas’ team finally managed to lift the long-awaited trophy, putting Málaga at the top of the veterans of Spanish football.
