A draw for Dely Valdés’ team in Yecla was enough to secure promotion. An incredible goal by Abeledo midway through the first half proved to be decisive, despite the equaliser from Iker Torres before half-time. The 0-0 result from the first leg was sufficient for Malagueño to return to the bronze division of Spanish football after 11 years.
The finishing touch to a perfect season for Antonio Contreras’ girls, who enjoyed an away win against Femarguín. A superb goal from María Ruiz in the second half led to a definitive 0-1 victory for Málaga, allowing them to mathematically return to the elite following victories throughout these playoffs.
