Atlético Malagueño

Silver anniversary of a memorable promotion

The Blue and Whites’ entity is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Club Atlético Malagueño’s historic ascent to Second Division B, embryo of the current Málaga CF.

La Rosaleda stadium will be adorned in all its finery this Wednesday afternoon, to commemorate two historic seasons in Málaga football, 92-93 and 93-94. A lot has happened since then, but Club Atlético Malagueño’s feat is still etched in the memory of many Malaguistas. The then Blue and Whites’ reserve team took the reins with the disappearance of the first team, representing the city as maximum exponent of Málaga football.

Today, Wednesday 27th June marks 25 years since the historic first ascent of Club Atlético Malagueño from Third Division to Second B. A team with 100% Málaga DNA that enchanted the city and was the embryo of the current Málaga CF.

Players, coaches and directors of that time, accompanied by journalists and Blue and Whites’ fans, will be taking part in the tribute organised by the MCF Foundation’s Historic Department at the Malaguista stadium. An event with many surprises, that will end with a talk at the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room at La Rosaleda stadium, with the protagonists of those two memorable seasons.
