New titles added to The MCF Academy showcase

The 11-a-side teams from within the Malaguista youth ranks closed a great season, topped off with Atlético Malagueño’s promotion to Second Division B. We look back over the season of six MCF Academy teams.

Atlético Malagueño

The Blue and Whites’ reserve team was proclaimed Third Division Group IX champions with 96 points out of 42 games. Dely Valdés’ boys won the 2ªB promotion playoff tie against Yeclano Deportivo and next season will compete in the bronze division.

Juvenil División de Honor

Málaga CF won the División de Honor Juvenil Group IV title. The Blue and Whites scored 72 points out of 30 matches. David Cabello’s team qualified to the Copa de Campeones for the seventh time in history, the fifth time on the run.

Juvenil Liga Nacional

The Malaguistas ended the season in second place of Liga Nacional Juvenil Group XIII with 68 points from 36 games. The team members, made up of first year juvenil and cadete players, enjoyed a superb season against top class rivals.

Cadete División de Honor

The Blue and Whites ended the División de Honor Andaluza de cadetes in third place. With 67 points from 30 matches, the Malaguistas had a great campaign. The MCF Academy team was the only one to defeat Betis and Sevilla away (runners-up and champions).

Infantil A

The Malaguistas were proclaimed champions of 1ª Andaluza Infantil Group 2 with 79 points from 30 games. This same team won the prestigious international tournament, the Slavia Cup.

Infantil B

With first year players, the Malaguista squad enjoyed a brilliant season in the Málaga group of the 2ª División Infantil. The Blue and Whites scored a meritorious 53 points in 30 matches during their first year of transition from 7-a-side to 11-a-side football.
