“We want to regain confidence away and aim for victory”

Málaga CF coach Sergio Pellicer addressed the media today at La Rosaleda. “We need to give more so that the small details work in our favour,” he said.

Burgos, compact rival
“They’re a team that was destined to be competing higher up the table. While they’re in an uncomfortable position now, the new coach’s ideas are already becoming evident. They’re a very compact team and recently scored in the final play of their last match. Our goal is to regain confidence away from home and secure victory during a week where we face two opponents below us in the standings. We must think realistically or aim big, and we want to aim big to finish the year in the best possible way.”

Midfield
“We have a very clear structure, especially defensively. Manu’s profile (out due to suspension) is different from what we have, but we do have other players for that position. Whoever steps in, I believe they will perform well and meet our expectations in terms of intensity and rhythm. This will be a great test for all of us.”

Small details
“It’s unusual to have so many draws. Wins will give better value to our efforts. What we want is to secure victories. The real analysis lies in how things are done, and identity plays a big role. We need to keep pushing, and if we win, those draws will feel more positive. We need to give more so that the small details work in our favour. Right now, I’m focused on the immediate task, Sunday’s game. It’s about controlling all situations to position ourselves more comfortably for the future.”

Three games in a week
“Objective? To win against Burgos, win against Eldense, and win against Sporting. We need to aim for the maximum. That’s our mindset and our idea. We have six days to focus, and what I want is the feeling of the points.”
