Provincial clubs get to know the Goalkeeper Department

The Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF hosted an event this past Monday as part of the Framework Agreement with the provincial clubs, where they had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the operations of the Club's Goalkeeper Department.

The Málaga CF Goalkeeper Department focuses on enhancing both the athletic and personal development of the club's homegrown goalkeepers.

Under the coordination of Francisco 'Caco' de la Torre, the program runs weekly sessions that help goalkeepers, from Pre-Benjamín to Juvenil level, improve their technical and tactical skills. These sessions provide a dedicated space for young talents to develop and refine their abilities.

On Monday 9th December, the Málaga CF Goalkeeper Department was introduced as part of the club's new framework agreement with several provincial teams.

During the event, around 20 representatives received a presentation from 'Caco' de la Torre, the club's goalkeeper coach. He emphasised the importance of focusing on mental and personal development as the foundation for growth, sometimes even above athletic performance, in shaping the goalkeepers of the future.

Málaga CF's sporting director, Loren Juarros, and first-team goalkeepers Alfonso Herrero and Carlos López attended the event, which culminated with an intense training session for the club's goalkeepers on Pitch 5 of the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF.

The day ended with a family photo, adding the perfect touch to an intensive and productive session led by our ‘guardians’.
