Pellicer: “We have to recover that energy we had at the start”
The Málaga CF coach spoke to the media ahead of the match against Antequera CF on Saturday: “The atmosphere is key, the fans have always been there,” he stated.
A very important match
“We haven't won at home in the last four games, but we’ve qualified and have to fight to be as high as possible. We have to stay focused, Saturday's game will be a fight to have the ball. We have to get stick together and be the team we’ve been for much of the season. We have to provide solutions in terms of football, we want to win in front of our fans.”
Solutions in terms of gameplay
“We have a masterclass on a mental level throughout the season. It’s a matter of providing solutions at the game level. I am focused on improving the collective level to win. The week has been good, we come from a very bad game in which we saw a heroic action. We have magic within us, the other day we saw it in Alfonso and now the magic that every person has, has to appear.”
Great atmosphere is key
“I am super happy with the squad, they are giving everything. We would like to be celebrating like other teams. The main one responsible is me, I ask for help for the lads. The atmosphere is key, the fans have always been there. We must compete at the highest level against Antequera CF. We know the demands that this club has, we are very focused on the game.”
Self-critical and solutions
“I am the person most responsible; I did not get the line-up or structure right. Today we worked in groups, with 12-10 players. The relationship is closer when there are fewer players. The head doesn’t stop, trying to find solutions. It's a good week of work, we have two days left. We are focused and minimising the details. Players are going to step up.”
Recover energy from La Rosaleda
“We need to recover that energy we had in that first victory against Atleti 'B' with Einar's goal at the last minute. The people were excited. We have to find that energy again, it’s going to be key for the next game.”
Playoff, 25% probability of promotion
“If we talk about the last stage, we can see it’s been bad, but we’ll make up for it in the end. We are not at our best, it’s true. The fans are tired of disappointments. It hurts me on a personal level, because the fans feel the same as us, that they are not happy with my work, which I understand it. We are in the playoff and, although it may sound small, we have a 25% chance of promotion.”
