La Rosaleda, ready for the playoff (3-0)

Málaga CF secured a comfortable win against Antequera CF. Roberto (34'), D. Larrubia (38') and Sangalli (73') scored the three goals for the Blue and Whites.

Málaga CF hosted Antequera CF on Primera Federación matchday 37 this Saturday 18th May. Some 20,050 fans were in the stands for this match, the final home game of the regular season.

Sergio Pellicer’s starting-11 was made up of: A. Herrero; Carlos Puga, Nelson, Juande, Víctor García; Manu Molina, Genaro; D. Larrubia, Dani Lorenzo, D. Ferreiro and Roberto.

In the initial minutes, both teams began to get into the game, predominantly, in midfield, yet with no notable chances for either side.

Little by little, the Blue and Whites imposed their game plan and approached the rival area on several occasions, but without finding a goal. David Larrubia sent out a warning with a header that didn’t connect with the goal and later with an attempt from mid-range that grazed the post.

After several consecutive chances, the first goal of the game arrived in the 34th minute. Ferreiro featured in a great play in midfield to assist Roberto who made the perfect finish with a point-blank shot (1 -0).

The team continued their attack and just four minutes later D. Larrubia took advantage of a great pass from Manu Molina to beat the goalkeeper. He paused in the area and executed a low shot to make it 2-0 on the scoreboard with which the game reached half-time.

In the second half, the locals continued to focus on the attack and an incisive D. Larrubia once again launched a long shot that crashed into the post. Málaga CF maintained control of the match and Alfonso Herrero responded effectively to several chances from the visitors to maintain the 2-0 lead.

Far from settling for a two-goal lead, Sergio Pellicer's team scored again, thanks to impressive combinative play by Carlos Puga and D. Larrubia, who assisted Sangalli to score the definitive 3-0.

La Rosaleda claimed the last three points of the regular season and is now awaiting the semifinal of the promotion playoffs to LaLiga Hypermotion.
