Pellicer: “We have to improve a lot at home”

The Malaguista coach held a press conference after #MálagaRealZaragoza. “Rivals are penalising us easily; we’ve got a long way to go”, he said.

“It’s a routine we have to get out of. We’re upset as we were full of enthusiasm for this game. We must congratulate the rival as they were forceful in the areas. Elsewhere on the pitch, the team was better. However, the result is what counts. They took the lead in minute 11, and beforehand we’d had Yanis’ action. The team generated options in the first half, the lads’ attitude was non-negotiable. In the second half, against the current, we stood up to the rival. We tried everything. Away from home we have fewer options, yet we manage to achieve victory or at least score a point. Now we have to reset ourselves. On Sunday we’ve got another high-intensity match against the last team that we beat at our stadium. Playing at La Rosaleda is hitting us hard. We need to clear our minds, compose ourselves and look forward. We’ve got a long way to go”.

Situation at home

“Rivals are penalising us easily. We started the match off well, but the opponent’s first approach resulted in a goal. That said, we managed to rebuild ourselves. However, we needed a goal. The last action from a set piece was a blow to us. It was unfair considering the merits of both sides. Playing at home creates anxiety, whereas in away games we are more relaxed. We have to improve a lot at home. It’s important that we distance ourselves from everything. There’s a long road ahead. The first step is Sporting, then big rivals will be coming here. We must be at 150%, we’ll need everyone and ensure we maintain a balance”.
