Press conference
Pellicer: “We have to convey energy and passion”

The Blue and White coach held a press conference this Friday at La Rosaleda’s 'Juan Cortés' press room, ahead of Recreativo Granada - Málaga CF: “Tomorrow more than 4,000 souls are going to be there supporting us. They make my hair stand on end,” he stated.

Being true to yourself is key

“We know that when we compete and are consistent, we are one of the best. When we go on impulse we have problems. This will be a dangerous game, against an opponent who has changed coaches and who has given them different defensive mechanisms in these two games. We have to be ourselves, this is the key. Our challenge is to be the best team in the second round.”

David Ferreiro, ready to roll

“He arrived on good form, he’s been training with his previous team. He is an experienced, associative player, with great quality in the last pass and he knows how to play in those small spaces. He’s going to give us experience, he knows how to play in high-tension games. He’s come here to help. I have spoken with him and he knows perfectly well that every day of training is a privilege. I can see he’s ready in case he has to participate.”

Recovering the energy of the first round

“We have to recover that energy when we lose the ball, that joy in the finishing zones, etc. We want to generate attack and defence habits individually. If we improve the player, we improve the team.”

Historic away game

“Tomorrow more than 4,000 souls are going to be there supporting us. They make my hair stand on end. We have a lot of responsibility, the fans are driving us. We have to convey that energy and passion again, it’s our responsibility. We want to thank Granada for their willingness. We hope to see a match between the first two teams in the top category again, which is where we deserve to be.”

Aspects to improve

“We cannot afford, I say it openly, the first part of Ceuta and minutes that we experienced against Intercity. People want to see an aggressive, brave and constant team. We are showing spirit, but since we came back from the break we haven’t started off well, we have to improve that.”
