Niño: “We don’t set goals beyond the next match”

The Malaguista forward, who scored the team’s second goal, spoke in the press room after the win over Huesca. “Playing at La Rosaleda is a gift, I really enjoyed it, and things went well for me,” he said.

Review of the 5-3 win

“We played a solid match, even though it got a bit crazy at the end. We need to make some adjustments, at home, we can’t concede these goals. Personally, I’m very happy, the coach gave me the chance to start, I was ready, and it went well for me.”

Competition upfront

“Let them give us that problem so Málaga can enjoy it. It’s healthy competition; we complement each other and make each other better. We’re doing well, and it’s positive.

“Good pressure, this is a team. If Chupe scores and we win, I celebrate it. There’s strong competition, when I’m on the bench, I cheer for my teammates, and when I play, I make it difficult for the coach.”

Penalty and goal

“At the moment of the play, I felt him passing the ball and felt that he kicked me. I stopped the action because, if they reviewed it, it would have been a penalty. I’ve practiced that way of taking it, I was going to shoot to the right, saw the goalkeeper moving that way so changed direction.”

Cádiz

“We don’t look beyond the next match if you don’t win it. This week it’s Cádiz, if you don’t beat them, you can’t move forward. It’s Cádiz, and we go for 54 points.”

“Of course you think about it, but we don’t set a goal beyond the next match, which is Cádiz, and we go for 54.”

“It’s a special match and marked on the calendar. I was there as a kid, and my family and friends will be there.”

Comeback

“When you fall behind, it crosses your mind, but we stayed calm because we have a game plan, and by sticking to it, we get closer to victory. We were able to come back, and they didn’t turn it around on us in the second half.”

La Rosaleda

“It’s a gift. What we’re achieving allows La Rosaleda to be full, and that’s amazing. For our opponents, it has to be tough, it’s great to have La Rosaleda behind you.”

Enjoying it

“I work every week to play. The coach gave me a starting spot, and my name was on the sheet, I took it calmly. It’s not a test, but a match to enjoy. Playing at La Rosaleda is a gift, I really enjoyed it, and things went well for me.”
