A Herrero: “The important part of the season is coming, and we have to stay calm”

The goalkeeper, one of the team’s captains, spoke to the media ahead of the Málaga CF Foundation’s ‘Siempre Fuerte’ gala. “There’s still a long way to go, and we’re not thinking about anything other than the upcoming weekend,” he said.

'Siempre Fuerte'

“I love being here. The cause supported by the Club and the Foundation is wonderful, and it’s great to give visibility to everything it generates.”

Team moment
“We’re in a good place, bringing excitement to the fans. But we have to keep our feet on the ground, take it game by game, and focus on the weekend.”

“I’m very happy because what we’re achieving is not easy. Now the important part of the season is coming, and we have to stay calm and composed to face the matches. We have a plan, and if we stick to it, things will turn out well.”

Cádiz - Málaga

“A really nice match, in one of my favourite stadiums in the Second Division. A special atmosphere, with lots of people supporting us, now it’s time to go for the three points.”

“On a personal level, I’d happily concede three goals every game if we keep winning. Knowing that some of the goals we’ve conceded were avoidable, I stay calm because the team is playing well.”

“There’s still a long way to go. We know where we are, but that’s not a limitation. Not thinking about anything beyond the upcoming weekend only distracts us.”

Squad

“It’s a factor we have to consider (possible international absences). But we have many players available who are performing very well in training and are ready to step up when the coach puts them on the pitch.”

Project

“Yes, I would like that, it would mean continuing the wonderful work we’re doing now. The foundations laid by Loren and now reinforced by the coach are key building blocks on this path.”

Stability

“We have to focus on playing on the pitch, day-to-day, things are going very well, and what we do is train and stick to that. Football is a sport where results bring stability, and in my opinion, the stability the club has now needs to continue. The fans support us, and that’s good for the club.”
