José María Muñoz: “We hope 30,000 people will be there on Saturday”

The judicial administrator of Málaga CF answered all the questions about season ticket holders’ concerns. “Guede’s signing has brought hope and positivity to Malaguismo,” he said.

Breaking down José María Muñoz's press conference, Málaga CF’s judicial administrator talked about all the issues that directly affect the season ticket holders.

Firstly, he spoke about the arrival of Pablo Guede, who “has brought hope and positivity to Malaguismo. Let's see if that will bring us 30,000 people on Saturday. The fans really push the team forward, we saw it in the match against UD Las Palmas,” he commented.

In regard to the compensation following the closure of La Rosaleda stadium, he stated that there were “only three claims submitted to Consumer Affairs and all three were dismissed.” He wanted to make it clear that he is “self-critical” during a season that kicked-off in “August and September without knowing how much capacity we would be allowed and the social distancing measures.”

“Burger King buys the tickets.” With this statement, José María Muñoz clarified that the Club doesn’t give the tickets to the fast-food chain, but that a financial benefit is received.

The judicial administrator also discussed the state of the seats during the last home game: “Until Friday morning it was raining mud in Málaga, on Saturday morning we were informed it would likely continue, yet mid-morning we were told it wouldn’t rain. It rained mud for a week in Málaga,” he stated. Moreover, he talked about the additional cleaning services. “If normally 10 people clean the stadium, there were 50-60 on Saturday and Sunday; but we didn’t reach all the seats, it’s impossible as the mud was encrusted,” he said.

When questioned about the number of season ticket holders, the administrator explained that the figure of 13,300 is well below the Club's expectations because “this year is very unusual due to the pandemic, which has punished all the clubs, the capacity limitation, social distancing, masks, not being able to eat in the stadiums.” He went on to say that: “You have to give the fans something so that they come here.”

Finally, José María Muñoz reiterated that Málaga CF attends to all the needs of the season ticket holders. “We’re listening to everyone and everyone who has come here has been seen, via the Preferencia access door. Season ticket holders have come to complain and protest, and they have been attended to. Elderly fans who have had difficulties to make the payment have been personally attended to. We always try to cater to everyone, and all those who complain always receive a response,” he concluded.
