José María Muñoz: “The accounts are immaculate”

The judicial administrator clarified the Club’s institutional situation during his press conference: “I’m the first one who believes that a provisional nature is not good.”

José María Muñoz affirmed that “talking about relegation is prohibited within the Club,” but insists that “the Entity would be viable even if that were to happen.”

The administrator pointed out that he is “the first one who believes that a provisional nature is not good, but in our Criminal Law, for the investigation to come to an end, the defendants must be heard,” he said regarding the judicial process in which he is immersed within the Club.

The administrator was also asked about the financial health of the Entity, to which he responded that “the accounts are immaculate compared to two years ago. The 20/21 season was miraculously saved, with the lowest salary limit in history. Now we have funds to carry out the works of the sports city. Starting in May, the pace of the works will accelerate. The first phase of the project is forecast to be completed by the end of the year.”

José María Muñoz also manages NAS Spain on which he commented: “NAS Spain had not regularised their accounts for eight years, they’ve already been approved until 2020. The CIF was blocked. I trust that they will be fully regularised shortly,” he explained.

Regarding BlueBay’s involvement in the management of Málaga CF, the administrator clarified that: “I do not consider it just cause, they are in litigation with the majority shareholder.” In relation to the concern about a possible devaluation of the Club, he explained that it has come from a worse situation: “Málaga CF would have been devalued definitively if it had disappeared in 2020.”

Muñoz doesn’t view the capital increase as viable as “Málaga CF has sufficient capital. The idea of increasing capital could dilute one of the partners and that’s something I’m not contemplating.” The administrator went on to add: “The Court wouldn’t approve it either. Al Thani and his children are innocent until proven otherwise. There is the presumption of innocence in Spain.”
