José María Muñoz: “Málaga is one of the Second Division Clubs that receives the most money from CVC”

During his press conference in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda, Málaga CF’s judicial administrator advocated “responsibility in management” and explained how the administration of financial resources has been undertaken.

José María Muñoz held a press conference in La Rosaleda’s Juan Cortés press room following multiple requests for an individual interview. Amongst the topics discussed at the conference, he was asked about LaLiga Impulso, a project derived from the CVC Investment Fund, in which the Malaguista entity, like the professional Spanish clubs, will receive an economic boost.

Within the complexity of the agreement, José María affirmed that “it has been thought out and studied” and that “we would not have to return it” in the event of relegation to 1º RFEF. He clarified that “no club has the salary limit for next year” and since he arrived at Málaga, “more than 60 operations have been carried out, with 200,000 euros spent and income of around 5 million.” In addition, he denied that the salary limit was 12 million because “it is not real, it includes 100% of CVC for three years, and the non-registrable. The salary limit this year doesn’t reach 7 million.”

“Málaga is one of the Second Division Clubs that receives the most money from CVC. Next year there are 12 players with a contract, not counting Kevin, Loren, Dani Lorenzo, Andrés and Roberto,” he said about the Club's sporting situation on a contractual level.

To end, José María encouraged responsibility in management and justified the administration of economic resources: “There is an annual limit, 25% of the turnover. It can be applied in three. It’s a decision of the Club: sports management, financial management and me in between. It was understood that the team that had to be made was that and the funds that had to be allocated were allocated. We can’t risk everything in one year, like the year of relegation. When the CVC arrived, 15th-20th July, it was about improving the squad without altering it.”
