José Alberto: “The season’s objectives are met at home”

The Malaguista coach spoke to the media in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda ahead of the match against UD Ibiza. “We’re raring to go. From what I’ve been told there’s going to be a great atmosphere,” he said.

As is customary in the lead-up to league games, José Alberto answered the questions from the assembled media in the press room. The Asturian coach talked about tomorrow’s rival visiting La Rosaleda for the first time, UD Ibiza. He said: “They are a rival who are doing things very well.”

José Alberto talks about tomorrow’s opponent: “They are the team that has made the fourth most passes in the attacking half, we’re fifth. They have taken the second highest number of set pieces, which is very important to consider when it comes to corners and lateral free kicks. They manage strategy very well. In combinative play they are brave, vertical, associative, and always try to defend far from their goal. They have recently moved up, but have players with a great deal of experience in the division, with many variants, they’re a big squad.”

Despite the last good match against Real Sporting, the team has played many games at home without claiming the three points, something which José Alberto is “very keen” to change.

“We want to get back to winning ways, and we want to do it by playing our style of match. We want to be an intense team, strong in defence, with the ball we want to move quickly and make lengthy attacks when necessary. The objectives are met at home,” added the Malaguista coach.

Finally, José Alberto is aware how tough this match will be, but is confident La Rosaleda will once again be a fortress. “One of the best away teams in the division is coming here tomorrow, it’s going to be immensely difficult. At certain moments we may seem subdued, but we need to get back to being a very strong team at home. This is where the majority of our options will be for the season,” said the coach.
