The diagnostic tests carried out on the Malaguista defender confirmed a grade II sprain to the internal lateral ligament of the left knee, and a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament of the same joint.
Iván Calero will travel to the Spanish capital this week to determine what treatment to follow after consulting with traumatologist Manuel Leyes, head of the unit at the CEMTRO Clinic in Madrid.
Calero’s appointment with Leyes is set for this Thursday 17th December, and a possible date for surgery will then be determined.
