The morning kicked off with a video viewing at the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room before stepping on to the pitch at the Annexe around 11am. As usual during a pre-match session, the players practiced set pieces and a great deal of strategy work for over an hour.
Coach Sergio Pellicer had a large number of players from the MCF Academy in today’s training. Defender Murillo and midfielder Mario da Costa were the newest additions to first team training.
Juande and Jozabed underwent recovery training outside the group, whilst Iván Calero greeted his teammates and received lots of encouragement from the squad following the serious injury to his left knee sustained in Almería.
This afternoon the called-up Blue and White players will head to Galicia for their Copa del Rey debut tomorrow, Wednesday (15:15, Do Vao), against Vigo-based Coruxo FC.
