Blue and White coach, Sergio Pellicer held a press conference at La Rosaleda the day before the #CoruxoMálaga Copa del Rey clash. “We have a lot to gain in order to continue to improve”.
“We’ve conveyed to the players that we take the Málaga CF shield and the Club's history wherever we go. We know that, due to the similarity of this competition with the Second Division, this issue we have with the professional registrations, the injury factor, it’s always a risk, but we’re going to compete. We’re determined to break the curse of recent years as it’s such a beautiful competition. It often looks as though we have little to gain and a lot to lose, but I view it totally differently. We have a lot to gain in order to continue to improve and, above all, remain in the competition”.
Iván Calero
“In these final two matches before the end of the year, we’d like to achieve victory and dedicate it to our teammate and a professional who, unfortunately, told me this when he was substituted the other day. We send Iván our maximum support, he knows how much affection we all have for him. We hope he recovers soon so we can have him back with us. The issue of injuries is the worst news, beyond the three points”.
Excitement
“We want to do great things. We are representing a Club and fans with so much history, taking into account all the situations we’ve experienced in previous years in the competition. Of course, there’s the possible risk of injuries and suspensions, as on Sunday we have another highly important match. However, we want to compete and get as far as we can in the competition. We’re not going to push it aside as winning helps us to keep winning”.
Do Vao
“There will be some people there, and playing at home adds another boost. We haven’t been able to play in front of our fans for so long. We want to win tomorrow so that in future we’ll be able to play at La Rosaleda in front of a crowd”.
