“I’m in a position to help the team”

Luis Hernández is the main new addition to the Málaga CF line-up heading to Gijón: “I spent four great years there and have some very good memories”, he says about his former team and tomorrow’s rival.

Return to the group dynamic

“I’m very happy to be back with the team, especially after being out of action for weeks, away from training and the day to day with the group. It’s been tough. I’m here to help with everything I can”.

Physical condition

“I feel good, it’s been a hard week since I sustained injury. I’ve tried to do everything possible to return quickly and help the team. If the coach has put me in the squad list, it’s because he thinks I’m in a position to help the team”.

Special rival

“Sporting is a club to which I’m very grateful. I spent four great years there and have some very good memories. This is a totally different time, we’re going to face this match with utmost enthusiasm, at a difficult ground, determined to claim the three points. Hopefully we’ll bring them home and move closer to the objective”.

Difficulty of the match in Gijón

“It’s a complicated match against a rival that, despite not gaining the desired results in recent weeks, are a quality team, have players with experience of this division, who are able to make a difference. It’s going to be a difficult match, but sticking with what we’ve been doing in recent games, we’ll be close to getting the three points”.

Solid defence

“This is key to the team’s recent good performance. We know that in this category keeping a clean sheet is essential, particularly for teams like us, in a delicate situation. The team has organised itself from defence and from there has grown, played well and generated scoring opportunities in every match. To a large extent, the team’s good performance is down to a strong defence”.
